Although Bird Ridge is the first trail to open up in the spring, it is not spring yet. The trail is covered with ice and snow, but there has been no new snowfall recently, and the trail is hard packed, not terribly difficult to traverse, at least as far as the "meadow" where there are good views in three directions. All of the pix in the collage have full-screen versions if you click on them.
