Mary Hopson, pictured with some of her 190+ beginning orchestra students,
has been on the Anchorage
School District's Music Department permanent staff since 1988 and on
the substitute staff for 3 years prior to that. During those years, she
has taught band, strings and classroom music classes. Her current assignment
is beginning orchestra in seven elementary schools.
She frequently contributes original music and arrangements to the elementary
orchestra repertoire.

on a full-tuition academic
Regents Scholarship.
Graduated 1969
Drove to Alaska in 1971.
Lived in Fairbanks, Nome, Anchor Point and Homer before moving to Anchorage
in '85.
